Parumala, 4 December 2008: Five priests of the seven Bishop Designates of the Orthodox Church of the East (Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church) were elevated to the monastic orders (Rabban/ Ramban/ Monk) by the Catholicos of the East Baselios Mar Thoma Didymos I with His Beatitude Paulose Mar Milithios Metropolitan and fellow metropolitans of the Holy Episcopal at a solemn function held on Thursday December 4th, 2008 at the St. Peter and St. Paul's Seminary Church, Parumala.
During the Holy Qurbana at the morning His Holiness Baselios Mar Thoma Didymus I blessed and tonsured Fr. Stephen O.I.C., Fr. Markose Joseph, Fr. Mathew Baby, Fr. Alex Daniel, and Fr. John Panicker as monks (rembans).
